Task7-Global Warming problems & solutions

Global warming is considered one of the most important problems facing this century as it is a serious issue because it involves rights and the environment. “Global warming refers to an increase the earth’s average surface air temperature”. (About Global Warming, 2009). On this topic I will explain what are the problems of global warming and what are the solutions proposed to resolve this crisis.

There are many problems. One of the most important documentaries that talks about global warming, An Inconvenient Truth is a film written by Al Gore. In particular, the film speaks about the negative effects of global warming. Scientists warm that the increased temperatures will result in a lot of hurricanes and floods. Man the is the main cause of this problem. Scientists that waarn the Arctic will melt quickly which will lead to a rise in the sea level.

There are many ways you can reduce global warming emissions at home and on the road. Below is a list of steps you can take to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions--a primary contributor to global warming--by potentially thousands of pounds. Another solution is to reduce greenhouse gases by investing in a green project (Plumer, 2009). We can also use clean renewable energy such as wind power, solar energy, nuclear energy and we can build cities, free of carbon dioxide, such as Musder city one of the most successful sophisticated and projects in the world.

Finally, we must take this problem seriously; if we neglect it this problem will worsen and grow so that we cannot solve it. The world's governments must take all precautions and care.

Task6- Cool City

According to the video:

Economic revolution and the main set of problems are the most important things mentioned by the videos:
1) traffic congestion.
2) increase population.
3) carbon dioxide emissions.

As he said in the video if we do not find solutions to these problems will need another earth, and it is impossible to find. If we want to live healthy, we must reduce carbon dioxide emisions by 50% . Japan has worked through 30 years to increase domestic production by 100%, but increased energy efficiency by 37% at the same time and also reduced the use of oil by 8%. Construction and transport constitute 90% of emissions.

SDCJ Japanese company is working to build a cool city to be friendly to the environment as they are free of carbon dioxide.
Three available means of transportation in the cool city:
1)Hybrid cars
2)Monorail / Light rail
3)Solar water raxis

The three areas are:
1) Residential
2) Business
3) Trade and Culture

Three things are proposed to reduce emissions in the cool city :
1)Planting trees
2)Water ways
3)Roof membranes

Scientists expect to reduce co2 emission by 30%, and the towers and housing by 50%. It is also expected to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 60% in the future.

In my view, we must reduce carbon dioxide in the state because the UAE is one of the countries that emit the most carbon dioxide. The cool city is the most successful project that will help the state to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide.

Task-5

The measurement of the carbon footprint from http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ record was only 4.14. It is also the majority of students in a class of nearly the same level.

There are three key factors in the emissions of carbon footprint:

1-Travel
2-Stuff
3-Food

My personal footprint I have 4.14. There are also companies with a footprint such as ADMC. It is also the UAE has the largest footprint in the world.

What can I do to reduce my carbon footprint?

There are many things that should underestimate them, such as travel, I come to college with a taxi or walking, but in some contexts is to use the car to go to somewhere like the end of this week with my friends or my family. The second thing that is raw material that can buy the necessary things for you, but sometimes you want to no time for yourself.

In the end, people should minimize the things that have no benefit.

How Europe can save the world

Part1: Summary

In this article the writer says that he briefly held a meeting between the European Union to reduce carbon emissions by 20% and the agreement in Brussels and to be a decline between 1990 and 2020. He also said they would use renewable energy because it is durable examples of renewable energy, air and water, biofuels. Also the writer says that at the end of 2010 will be stations for the storage of energy in all the states of Europe.

But there are problems impeding the European Union which is renewable energy need to be a lot of money. As there are some companies that impede the European Union the most important of India, China and America, which use fossil fuels. We stopped to curb climate change before it is too late.

In short, the European Union and other nations are working hard to stop carbon emissions. As it would be a successful if the cooperation of the world to solve this problem.

Word count: 163

Part2: Main idea

1 - Convention on the European Union to reduce emissions by 20%
2 - The development of plants in all the countries of Europe for the storage of energy.
3 - Problems faced by the European Union.

Part3 comment:

This topic gave me a lot of information that I didn’t know it, but I want to know how long we will depend on the Arab Gulf fuel use in cars because there are many non-energy sources of fuel that can be used instead of fossil fuels.

An Inconvenient Truth-Task4

Brandon Fibbs, http://brandonfibbs.com/2006/05/24/an-inconvenient-truth/ ,

In this review indicates that Al Gore's high temperature is one of the causes of human-induced, and many scientists support his view on this subject. The time had seemed to be implemented to redress the matter quickly before it is too late. He also added the images, video and graphics that show what would happen if we do not address the situation as quickly as the sinking of some East Asian countries and most of the sinking of America. At the end of the film indicated that he did not mean to scare people, but wants to know what is the difference between now and 1950 emission.

Scott Nash, http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/inconvenient_truth/articles/156,

From the negative review, saying that Al Gore's ambitions in politics and not to modify the climate of the earth. It would also take advantage of people when he said emotionally from the death of his son in a car accident and the death of his sister from lung cancer. It is also critical of Bush's policy because he does not care about the climate and that is in the war. He also added that the pictures might be old and may be in the winter or in summer, has been picked.

What is my opinion? I agree with the first review of some evidence, he said that we see in our world today, such as the occurrence of some earthquakes and floods due to global warming. I also agree with him one time and said that global warming is a threat to our world and we must find the appropriate solution and quickly. I Agreed with the second review, when he said that Gore made in his speech to reach for the presidency and the new American policy was not interested in climate change and that the issue is not a moral core.

An Inconvenient Truth

On this subject I want to talk about the film An Inconvenient Truth, I saw a change to global warming.
Have seen the effects that will face the Earth after 30 years and over because of global warming. Also I saw in the film what the factors that affect climate change on Earth, such as deforestation considerably, factories and cars smoke rising into the air, which will affect the ozone layer. As there have been some earthquakes, volcanoes and floods in some countries such as China, Japan and the U.S. Furthermore, I saw what will happen in the Arctic after several years. The ice is melting, which would raise sea level, and what will happen in cities and countries near the sea.

The writer has been developed by the appropriate solutions to confront global warming and hope that people take an inconvenient truth seriously disturbing because it will be a major problem facing the world.
