Task7-Global Warming problems & solutions

Global warming is considered one of the most important problems facing this century as it is a serious issue because it involves rights and the environment. “Global warming refers to an increase the earth’s average surface air temperature”. (About Global Warming, 2009). On this topic I will explain what are the problems of global warming and what are the solutions proposed to resolve this crisis.

There are many problems. One of the most important documentaries that talks about global warming, An Inconvenient Truth is a film written by Al Gore. In particular, the film speaks about the negative effects of global warming. Scientists warm that the increased temperatures will result in a lot of hurricanes and floods. Man the is the main cause of this problem. Scientists that waarn the Arctic will melt quickly which will lead to a rise in the sea level.

There are many ways you can reduce global warming emissions at home and on the road. Below is a list of steps you can take to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions--a primary contributor to global warming--by potentially thousands of pounds. Another solution is to reduce greenhouse gases by investing in a green project (Plumer, 2009). We can also use clean renewable energy such as wind power, solar energy, nuclear energy and we can build cities, free of carbon dioxide, such as Musder city one of the most successful sophisticated and projects in the world.

Finally, we must take this problem seriously; if we neglect it this problem will worsen and grow so that we cannot solve it. The world's governments must take all precautions and care.

Task6- Cool City

According to the video:

Economic revolution and the main set of problems are the most important things mentioned by the videos:
1) traffic congestion.
2) increase population.
3) carbon dioxide emissions.

As he said in the video if we do not find solutions to these problems will need another earth, and it is impossible to find. If we want to live healthy, we must reduce carbon dioxide emisions by 50% . Japan has worked through 30 years to increase domestic production by 100%, but increased energy efficiency by 37% at the same time and also reduced the use of oil by 8%. Construction and transport constitute 90% of emissions.

SDCJ Japanese company is working to build a cool city to be friendly to the environment as they are free of carbon dioxide.
Three available means of transportation in the cool city:
1)Hybrid cars
2)Monorail / Light rail
3)Solar water raxis

The three areas are:
1) Residential
2) Business
3) Trade and Culture

Three things are proposed to reduce emissions in the cool city :
1)Planting trees
2)Water ways
3)Roof membranes

Scientists expect to reduce co2 emission by 30%, and the towers and housing by 50%. It is also expected to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 60% in the future.

In my view, we must reduce carbon dioxide in the state because the UAE is one of the countries that emit the most carbon dioxide. The cool city is the most successful project that will help the state to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide.

Task-5

The measurement of the carbon footprint from http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ record was only 4.14. It is also the majority of students in a class of nearly the same level.

There are three key factors in the emissions of carbon footprint:

1-Travel
2-Stuff
3-Food

My personal footprint I have 4.14. There are also companies with a footprint such as ADMC. It is also the UAE has the largest footprint in the world.

What can I do to reduce my carbon footprint?

There are many things that should underestimate them, such as travel, I come to college with a taxi or walking, but in some contexts is to use the car to go to somewhere like the end of this week with my friends or my family. The second thing that is raw material that can buy the necessary things for you, but sometimes you want to no time for yourself.

In the end, people should minimize the things that have no benefit.
